²² Jesus Is Presented in the Temple. When the days for their purification were completed according to the Law of Moses, they brought the child up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, ²³ as it is prescribed in the Law of the Lord: “Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord,” ²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice in accordance with what is stated in the Law of the Lord, “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”
